Since my master thesis, I’ve been following through my scientific interests in the transition of agricultural systems from a socio-anthropological perspective. I am an anthropologist and a sociologist. Through diverse scientific research and teaching activities, I built up an expertise in the field of agro-food systems and transition, and more specifically in agroecology, organic farming and conservation agriculture. I developed particular strengths in working at an interdisciplinary level between social science and agricultural science, as well as in conducting participatory research.

From 2006 to 2011, I carried out a PhD research (ULB – LAMC) on organic farming in the Southern part of Belgium: through an ethnographic fieldwork, I sought to understand organic farmers’ practices and their evolution in a changing environment. I also analyzed the way the new regulation on organic farming, its associated actors and new institutional practices, are redefining organic farming, its practices and values. In 2012, I jointed the Socio-Economie Environnement et Développement (SEED – ULg Campus d’Arlon) where I carried out twoo research about transition to Conservation Agriculture (reduced tillage) and cattle farmers’ transition to alternative parasitic treatments. In 2014, I worked at the Centre Wallon de Recherches Agronomiques (CRA-W) in a research program on Organic Farming and Protein Autonomy (Cellule Agriculture Biologique et Autonomie Protéique) where I was in charge of developing participatory and action research in the organic farming sector.

I am currently working at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (EPSPV) as a researcher and research project adviser for the “Centre d’Appui pour l’Action Co-Create” funded by Innoviris (http://cocreate-bruxsel.be/): I provide support in participatory and co-creation methodologies for research projects in the field of Urban Sustainable Food Systems and Urban Resilience. I also work as an independent expert in research projects evaluation.
